Building Relationships that Transcends Time

Scripture: "Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up." - Ecclesiastes 4:9-10a (NIV)

God designed us for relationship—relationship with Him and with one another. In Ecclesiastes 4:9-10, we are reminded of the beauty and strength found in relationships.  At the core of relationships that transcend time is love. Genuine, selfless love that withstand the tests of circumstance and change.

It's a love that surpasses human understanding and becomes the blueprint for our relationships. When we root our relationships in God's love, we create a nurturing environment for growth, understanding, and grace.

Like the passage in Ecclesiastes suggests, two are better than one. In times of joy, having someone to share the journey magnifies the moment.  In times of sorrow, having a supportive friend or spouse can lighten the burden. God places people in our lives to be sources of encouragement, comfort, and strength.

No relationship is immune to misunderstandings or conflicts. However, godly relationships are characterized by a commitment to forgiveness and reconciliation. Just as God extends grace to us, we are called to extend grace to others.   When we embrace forgiveness, it promotes healing and preserves the unity of our relationships.

Recognize that relationships that transcends time is a glimpse of an eternal connection we will experience in the presence of God.  Investing in relationships nurtures not only the physical but also the spiritual.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for the gift of relationships that transcend time. Help me build my relationships to reflect Your grace,   I acknowledge that apart from You, my efforts are in vain.  With You at the center, my relationships become a testimony to Your power to transform my life.

Teach me to communicate with love, honesty, and a desire to understand.  In moments of conflict or misunderstanding, give me a spirit of forgiveness and reconciliation so my relationships can reflect your love, grace and wisdom.  In Jesus’ name.
